Nokia N97 Review

With the launch of Nokia N97 on 2nd of December 2008, Nokia comments that the N97 is the world’s most technologically advanced mobile phone and believes that it will change the definition of communication. Some really interesting features of this mobile phone make it different from other touch screen phones available at mobile phone shops today. This is the first touch screen mobile phone manufactured by Nokia and is specially intended to benefit the internet savvy mobile users. There are several advantages of this mobile phone and this is a must buy for the advanced mobile phone enthusiasts.

When you go into the mobile phone shops and have a look, you can see the N97 has got an attractive look and a stylish design. Nokia N97 is upgraded with a 640×480 VGA recording and a 5 mega pixel camera with a sophisticated Carl Zeiss lens which is just too good for a mobile phone camera. Other touch screen phones generally have 2 mega pixel cameras and the basic zooming facility is not very advanced in them. With a massive inbuilt memory of 32GB this phone has beaten all the records. Not only this, the phone memory can even be extended up to 16GB. This phone is Nokia’s first high resolution touch screen device which supports 16 million different colors. N97 has got a 16:9 TFT 3.5 inches wide display which is more than any other touch screen mobile phone.

Another interesting feature which adds to the uniqueness of this mobile phone is called So-Lo. This feature enables this phone to spontaneously understand the location since this phone has integrated A-GPS sensors and electronic compass. Most of the touch screen phone users often complain about the basics such as SMS forwarding, one speed dialing and copy and pasting text, however, Nokia did a great job by avoiding such issues. With this, N97 is open to all the internet sites and is more like a palm top where you can browse the internet easily. N97 is a really a very good looking handset which can rightly be considered as a small version of a laptop.

The battery of this phone is not so high, but has a 5-hours talk time and about approximately 200 hours standby which is better than the average mobile phones. The durability factor of this phone and a QWERTY keyboard adds to the uniqueness of this mobile phone. Also, the screen space is wisely used and does not look disorganized like in most of the other touch screen phones.
